On Diarrhea

We were recently helping a client who has diabetes and had been dealing with several health concerns at the same time.

She had gone through two rounds of treatment for the flu, but some lingering symptoms remained. We incorporated acupuncture and sliding cupping into her care, and she soon began feeling much better. She felt that the lingering symptoms had finally cleared, and her energy began to return.

She is also sensitive to Metformin, so her doctors had taken her off the medication and were primarily using insulin to help manage her blood sugar. However, whenever her blood sugar spiked, she would often experience diarrhea. She also has irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), and at one point she was experiencing diarrhea as often as eight times a day.

By her sixth acupuncture session, the frequency had decreased to once or twice a day. This made a tremendous difference in her daily life. She also reported feeling better hydrated and noticed a significant improvement in her energy level.

In addition to the improvement in her digestive symptoms, she felt that acupuncture had helped ease her back pain, reduce her anxiety, and support her overall sense of well-being.

Every person responds differently to acupuncture, and individual results vary. For this client, however, the changes she experienced have made a meaningful difference in her quality of life.

These are the moments that remind us why we do what we do at Benefit Acupuncture—to help people feel better, function better, and get back to enjoying their lives.
